GROUNDS TOURS

You are invited to experience an authentic and guided tour of the Coqualeetza grounds, located on Vedder Road in the community of Chilliwack B.C. in the heart of the Fraser Valley. Step into the  longhouse and be greeted by our Stó:lō cultural education team as we begin with a traditional welcome drumming song, then be captivated by the ancient stories of the Stó:lō people, traditions, and cultural teachings. Explore the Interpretive Centre’s unique fishing, weaving, and cultural exhibits, award winning Research and Resource Centre housing ancient artifacts, beautiful Coast Salish basket collection, Halq’eméylem language art, Stan Greene feature art piece and T’ixwelatsa, “Man Turned to Stone”. Immerse yourself as you walk through the grounds and discover the stories passed down through the generations of the indigenous peoples. A great opportunity for local residents, visitors and those wishing to learn about the Stó:lō people of the river, the grounds and traditional ways. Connect with stories of long ago and today.
